Sir Peter Paul Rubens 28 June 1577 – 30 May 1640) was a Flemish artist. He is considered the most influential artist of Flemish Baroque tradition. Rubens's highly charged compositions reference erudite aspects of classical and Christian history. His unique and immensely popular Baroque style emphasized movement, color, and sensuality, which followed the immediate, dramatic artistic style promoted in the Counter-Reformation. Rubens specialized in making altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects. - Wikipedia
Pierre Paul Rubens has a way how he depicts women that I love a lot. In art representing women in, he is my favorite. I love how they seems embrace life and without any complex about their weight.
One of the reasons I love the way he is painting the female human is that I tend to be attracted to curvy women who have larger breasts and wider hips; Historically men have always been drawn towards women who look like they would be able to bear children in a healthy way. There is a natural and instant sexual attraction that occurs when a man sees a girl with a curvy figure.
After all these years collecting artbooks of the old masters, I still need to find a good artbook of his work. He is one of my main influence in painting when I want to depict women.
